It's not like I forgot how to access my typepad account. Very little has changed for me and I have had virtually nothing good to report. It has been frustrating to say the least. I scouted Thursday and Friday last week with two good fishermen and we caught a total of six fish. One of them was a gafftop so I have to deduct one!
The water clarity isn't as bad as it was nor is the wind, but we just can't find the trout. Having said that, there is an occasional decent bite taking place south of the Causeway and along both revetment walls. I have watched the bank fishermen catch more fish than I have on the walls, but it is good to know they are there and it is easilyh the clearest water in the lake. There are lots of folks fishing the pipes each morning and I think It is by far the best option right now if you choose to stay in the lake.
The water was in good shape in short stretches of the Louisiana bank, but we managed to catch only three redfish Thursday. The water on the Causeway reefs was in terrible shape on an incoming tide. I still haven't heard even a bad explanation as to why the rivers and bayous are still so dirty with no runoff for over a month. Hard to get excited!
The upcoming S.A.L.T. tournament is going to be a challenge, but it is always fun. They may have to make a long run, but someone always finds the fish.
