The weather forecast for today proved to be a tad conservative as I was forced off the water very early due to a driving rain. I could hardly see the bow of the boat when I quit and it was worse than that by the time I got the boat on the trailer. Between lightning bolts and a gusting wind, it was tough just getting home.
As a matter of fact, it was so bad that I was embarrassed to be seen pulling my boat through town. It quickly cleared out due to a 25 mph west wind, but the damage was already done. The bayous were on the rise again and every ditch in Orange County was full. The water temperature was in the low fifties, but it will undoubtedly drop a little if we get some colder weather out of this.
Before the front hit, the bayous were clearing a little which in turn helps out the river, but this was a set back. It is going to be very tuff on Sabine for a few days!
