Big Lake continues to improve

It was back to Calcasieu again as the water continues to improve and Sabine is just blown out. The largest trout of the day were running the shallow flats(1-2 feet deep) at daylight. Catch 2000's and Spooks in black or black-chartreuse worked better than any other pattern for us. From mid-morning on, the birds worked from east of Commisary to West Cove.

We caught both reds and specks on morning glory-chartreuse Assassin eels and pumpkin-chartreuse Sea Shads. We limited on reds quickly and released as many as we kept. We finshed the day with 23 trout from 16 to 23 inches in length. For the past week the better bite under the birds has beeen in the afternoon as they seem to work a little tighter.
