The last two fronts have pushed more shrimp into the lake and we are finding more bird activity. The specks under the birds have been small and mixed with sand trout. The better bite has been after the boats and birds scatter. Stayiung in the same area and working the fish that chase shrimp to the surface has produced trout up to 22 inches. Bass Assassin Sea shads in glow-chartreuse and pumpkin- chartreuse are hot along with smaller top waters like the She Dog and Chug Bug.
We lost a day to the wind over the weekend, but both the reds and trout were schooling as soon as it slacked up. If we can avoid anymore downpours we should have an excellent November. Both redfish and stripers are feeding in the bayous leading into the main river. Hoaginars and live shad are all you need to catch these fish as they exit the marshes. The flounder bite has improved greatly. Small tails or tube jigs tipped with shrimp are taking flounder up to three pounds. The hottest area for trhe flounder has been the east shoreline of the lake from Bridge Bayou on south.
